Growing up, I never imagined becoming an author. English was my worst subject, and despite struggling with grammar and spelling, I loved stories and would create elaborate narratives in my mind. I daydreamed about being a princess or inheriting a fortune, but never considered writing these stories down. Everything changed when my mother and I discovered Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Frustrated by waiting for the next book, I challenged my mother to write her own story. In that moment, all the stories in my head converged, and we began a writing partnership that would define my life. We wrote our first manuscript together (not published until later), and published our second manuscript, Ethan's Flight, in 2008, and though my mother passed away in 2009, I eventually continued our writing journey, reconnecting with our mentor and editing our original work.
